WHO AM I?

WHAT A QUESTION TO START OFF WITH, BUT I THINK IT IS A GOOD QUESTION TO ASK OURSELVES. NOW I DON'T MEAN FOR YOU TO ASK YOUR PARTNER,FRIEND OR CO-WORKERS THIS QUESTION. THIS IS A QUESTION YOU ASK YOUR INNER SELF, BECAUSE THE ANSWER CAN ONLY COME FROM THIS PART OF YOU.

TOO OFTEN WE DEFINE OURSELVES BY OUR JOB, HOME LIFE, OR OUR FRIENDS. I BELIEVE THAT IN ORDER TO FIND THE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION WE NEED TO SPEND SOME TIME ALONE WITH OUR SELF. TO MEDIATE AND PRAY FOR THE ANSWER THAT WILL ONLY COME FROM WITHIN. YOU KNOW THAT PART OF US THAT TELLS US TO DO OR NOT DO THINGS. THE PART OF US THAT WE RARELY LISTEN TO. SOME CALL THIS INTUITION OR THE SIX SENSE. I LIKE TO CALL IT THE KNOWING PART OF ME.

MY HEAVENLY FATHER IS CONSTANTLY TRYING TO GET A MESSAGE TO ME DAILY, BUT ALL TOO OFTEN I'M TOO BUSY RUSHING AND RUNNING IN LIFE SO I MISS THE MESSAGE THAT I AM GIVEN BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.
I HAVE DECIDED TO WORK ON LISTENING TO THE PART OF ME THAT KNOWS WHAT DIRECTION I SHOULD TAKE. SO FOR THE REST OF OCTOBER I WILL BE WORKING ON LISTENING TO THE INNER KNOWING THAT IS WITHIN ME. SO THERE IS NO ENDING TO THIS POST. THE WORK BEGINS NOW!

We Need Each Other

STOP LETTING PEOPLE DIVIDE US. MORE THAN EVER WE NEED TO COME TOGETHER TO SOLVE OUR PROBLEMS. TOGETHER WE CAN BECOME A PEOPLE OF COOPERATION. WE NEED TO COME TOGETHER BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. WHY DO WE NEED SOME DISASTER TO HAPPEN BEFORE WE LAY DOWN OUR VERBAL WEAPONS AND CHOOSE LOVE AND COOPERATION.

WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO WASTE ANOTHER MOMENT ON ANYTHING BUT CARING FOR EACH OTHER. WE CAN DO THIS, BUT IT WILL NOT BE EASY. PLEASE STOP AND LOOK AROUND THE WORLD TODAY. ASK YOURSELF WHAT IS MY CONTRIBUTIONS TO WHERE WE ARE AND WHAT I CAN CHANGE TO BECOME PART OF THE SOLUTION.

LOVE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD!

A MOTHER'S LOVE

WHO LOVES YOU NO MATTER WHAT? WHO STANDS BY YOU WHEN NO ONE ELSE WILL? WHO'S LOVE IS UNCONDITIONAL? MOTHER!
GIVING BACK TO OUR MOTHERS, WHETHER ALIVE OR IN HEAVEN IS SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT THIS MOTHER'S DAY. NO I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT GIFTS OR MONEY. THOSE THINGS WILL BE USED AND FORGOTTEN QUICKLY. THE GIVING BACK I'M TALKING ABOUT IS FROM THE HEART. PASSING ON THE WISDOM WE RECEIVED FROM OUR MOTHERS. SHARING THIS WISDOM WITH OUR CHILDREN WILL BE A SPECIAL GIFT WE RECEIVED FROM THEM.
JUST REMEMBER HOW MOM LOVED US WHEN WE WERE NOT BEING LOVELY. SO WHEN OUR CHILDREN OR LOVED ONES ARE BEING LESS THAN LOVING, REMEMBER YOUR MOTHER'S UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
SHARE THAT WITH YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
AND REMEMBER MAMA'S DON'T LIVE FOR EVER, LOVE THEM NOW WHILE THEY ARE STILL HERE TO ENJOY!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Everyday it is a struggle to just trust that still small voice inside you. It calls to us as a gentle breeze rippling across the waters. In our hurried rushed lives we often miss the message that is being sent to us. Oh I want to slow down and let the still waters of my "Heavenly Father" move over me. Too feel the love that is so complete with no strings attached. I can hear the wind outside my window, and in it I hear the awesome sounds of God. He gently calls to me to allow him to have full control in my life. My answer is yes! I don't know where God will lead me today but I will follow Him. Yes, I will follow that still small voice inside me. My love for Him is great, but his love for me is even greater. I will trust in our Awesome God!

A Meaningful Life

What is the meaning of our lives? Why are we here? Is there more to this thing called life? Or is it just a continuous drifting in the ocean without meaning or purpose. Has life become just about consuming more and more things?
Let's take a look at our day to day routine. We wake up, take a shower, brush our teeth, get dressed, wake everyone else up, eat breakfast, run out the door, go to work, work all day, go home cook dinner, do homework, watch television, play games, pat the dog, read e-mails, check your Facebook or Myspace, go to bed and wake up and do it all over again. Hope you noticed that the last sentence went on and on and on.

I know that "Our Heavenly Father" had more purpose for us than this routine we've got going on.
We need to seek the true purpose for our lives. We can start by having quiet times with ourselves and asking some questions out loud, "What is the purpose of my life? How should I be living from day to day? We should continue this process daily until we get an answer.

TURN OFF THE NEW'S (ALL NEWS'S)! THINK FOR YOURSELF.
Don't let other people think for you. Go eat lunch by yourself. Spend time outdoors by yourself. I promise you that you will get the answers you need from your heavenly Father. He is just waiting to give you the answer to those questions. And my friend when you hear the answer, take it and run with it.

What you hear may not be conventional wisdom. Your friends may think you have lost you way. But I say unto you "IF GOD SAID IT THAT SETTLES IT"

GENESIS 32:24-29
And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. 25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. 26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. 27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. 28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. 29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
"BE LIKE JACOB AND WRESTLE UNTIL YOU GET YOUR ANSWER".

If God Is Love, Then What Are We?

If we are the children of God shouldn't we have that same attribute of love in us.
Let's just imagine being able to stand in the heavens and see mankind on the earth.
Yes take a look, now do you see that love in action? Yes there are a few small pockets of that love, but mostly not. Can you feel the incredible sadness that is there. Even now in my mind I see chaos and confusion. A cry from within for help.

We need to activate that love that God has placed in each of us. He has called us to heal the chaos in this world, not to become part of it. We are called upon to spread his love in every action we take. NOW THATS BIG! No matter what it is we do it should all be based on God's love.

This will require us to live in the present moment. To meditate on God's love every moment of our lives. Yes we will falter at times, but don't give up. For we are the lights in this dark world. As each of us begin to practice God's love WE will change the world.

Matthew 5:13-16 tells us:

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Living Out Loud

How wonderful it is to awake and feel a sense of awe inside. Even in a world gone mad, there is this calm inside me. This feeling is almost indescribable. I feel renewed and refreshed. A cleaning of some sort has taken place in me and again I am excited about life. I feel like David in the bible, you know like dancing in the streets proclaiming that My Father lives. Come let us proclaim the goodness of the lord!

Mother Nature

Mother nature is really turning up the heat on her children. You know we all have opinions and in my opinion the message is loud and clear. Wake up, wake up little one's. It is time to get up from your sleep of me me me. It's time to show compassion and love toward everyone.

When are we going to get it that love should be the litmus test for everything we do. How can there be an argument about people getting health care. How can we watch people sleeping in the park, just living on the street and just keep walking. We certainly are not being "The Good Samaritan" are we.

Let's try being more like the "Good Samaritan" and change our world for the better.

My God Is Awesome

Wow, I feel the awesome presence of the Holy Spirit this morning! I don't know if I can fully describe this feeling. And no everything in my life is not perfect. I have ups and downs like everyone else.

I guess it's sort of like being in love with your first boyfriend or girlfriend. Everything seems Rosy. You feel so wonderful inside and you can't wait to see them again.

Well I feel like that way about my Father (God). He is like the sweet smell of roses when there's a gentle breeze in the air. But even without the breeze you still can smell the roses.

Even though the world maybe falling apart all around you and your life maybe in chaos, there is the scent of the roses. I love him more and more everyday.

His love for me is unending and knowing this I can soar like eagles.
I can run and not faint. If you are thinking about what you might want next in your life, He is a must have and should be first on your list.

Peace

Freedom To Be!

As I look at the beautiful sky today, it seems to call to me. The gentle wind brushes across my face as if to say, come play. I have now been on this earth 54 years. Even now I still search for meaning in my life. I want to fulfill the contract that was made before I came here.

Yes, I know you are thinking" what contract". I believe we all came here with a mission. For me that mission is to just be Brenda. But that's mighty hard to do, isn't it. We spend all our lives learning to be like everyone else and then realize one day you have been living a lie.

So I have decided to surrender to the longing in my heart to free myself from the chains of being like everyone else. I know this won't be easy but I'm ready to take the leap.

So here I go on the road of discovery to release the little girl I once knew!

Can we ever get enough stuff in our lives? Can there ever be any peace in our lives when all we think about is what we can get next? Even our children have become like us.
So out we go to get the next toy they want. Anything to make them think we are the best parents on planet earth. They are so happy until they want a different toy.
We are not content either. We want more all the time. Will we ever have enough so that we can be happy? No! We can never get enough because what we really want cannot be brought. I believe we seek to know our creator. There is this longing inside of us that beckons us to seek our higher callings. And believe me a new toy won't satisfy this longing.
Are we willing to give up our toys to live a more spiritual life?
We need to save our children from the give me more demon, but first dear ones we must free ourselves.
Are we willing to give away what we don't need anymore?
Do we really need more clothes?
As I look around my home all I see is clutter, stuff I thought I couldn't live without. But non of it has satisfied me and non of it ever will.
I'm on a journey my dear friends. A journey to find my soul.

COMPASSION IS WHAT WE NEED

Are there other people that are tired of the ping pong game in Washington, DC? While they play games we the people continue to suffer.
I also think it's time to take a sabbatical from the news media. It doesn't really matter which network. The stress that is associated with looking at the evening news is so unhealthy for us.
It's time that we the people begin to take a look at what's happening in our communities. There is work to do. We cannot expect the gamers in Washington to create change in our communities. As "Gandhi" would say WE MUST BECOME THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD. YES IT'S YOU AND ME THAT MUST CHANGE.

What can we do to create change in our community?
  • Find out who the elderly are and find out what they need.
  • Offer to mow their lawns for free.
  • Offer to shovel their driveway when it snows for free.
  • Make sure they have enough food and medicine.
  • Offer to rake their leaves for free.
  • Find out what the needs of the children in your neighborhood are;
  • Do they need help with homework
  • Do they need a new coat and gloves so that they are warm.
  • Maybe they need therapy and their parents can't afford it.

I could go on and on, but I think you get the message. Stop waiting for THEM to do something. Let us do something.

P.S. I AM FOR A PEACEFUL WORLD
